Jaboticaba.

i had promised a special entry long time ago on this particular jaboticaba tree.. ( i bet none of u remember) anyway here it is.

Family : Myrtaceae
Scientific name: Euginia cauliflora
Common names: Jaboticaba, Brazilian grape
Origin: Brazil to South California.

The childhood tree:

After we came back from the states, dad was 1st posted at Bertam Seberang Perai . He was then again transfered to cameron. the ridz had spent almost 14 years there before dad was again again got transfered to Cherating.. ;) During my childhood years, i remembered growing up surrounded by thousands of gebra, anthurium and carnation flowers. but most of the time it was gebras the african daisy. i didnt even realized when did he complete his studies but all i know soon afterthat there were hydroponic strawberries all over. so we dont play flowers nomore. Up on a hillside, between those bushy trees there were birds singging happy melodies. they were happily feeding on something. the fruits... the jaboticaba fruits. i used to call them "jambu kecik masam" until one day the management decided to put up name tags for them. ;)).... i dont know y, but this jaboticaba tree has been my fav tree for more than a decade..some sort of a personal crush on them. it will really break the heart if the management people ever remove them. i wont let that happen. geeezz mcm la ade kuasa mutlak. seriously.. after so many years producing berries without failing? come on.... i even panjat2 them u know becuz i love them too much..

Morphology :

The bark of the Jaboticaba is very smooth, creamy tan with a pinkish tint and patches of soft gray. Its habit of peeling off in curls as the trunk and branches expand is similar to the guava and crape myrtle. It is evergreen but sheds half its leaves each spring before new growth begins. The new leaves are pinkish but change to light to medium green. They are closely packed and are narrow and tapering. It blooms several times a year during warm months. The flower has delicate white petals with stamens and comes in clusters on the trunk, large branches and exposed roots. The tree begins to bear fruit when it is ten to fifteen years old. Its edible purple berries are globular shaped, 3/4" to 1 1/2" in diameter, have a tough skin and a juicy pulp. The fruit grows directly from the hard wood of the tree and develops very quickly; from open flower to ripe fruit in about three weeks. It is good to eat fresh, in preserves or in ice cream (www.bonsai-cbi.com)

True! i have just completed my 16 weeks of internship program last friday 22/4... am no longer a student? yeah.. for now... i dont know what may the future brings. so Lets just pray for d best. ;)... on that friday, i had 3 prsentation slots to deliver n that was phiewwww penat bercakap i tell u . n i have never gave out such a long speech to any crowd!! none! (T_T) but yeah... there were just too many things to mention, to be thankful n grateful for. the people, the knowledges, the supports, the foods, the helps, the sincerities, the friendliness, everything!! ~feelin a bit sappy now. ;'(.. This is a sincere shoutout to all MARDI Sg. Baging Staffs n Pejabat Pengarah MARDI Negeri. THAnK UUUUUUU A ZILLLIIOOOONNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! n what did strike the heart was when my dad said in his speech:

"sy mengucapkan Taniah kpd Fatin kerana berjaya menamatkan latihan industri disini bersama-sama dengan MARDI. Dgn tamat nya praktikal ini, maka tamatlah juga pengajian empat tahun dia di UPM. Kita tak tahu apa yang dia telah rancang utk masa depan dia... hanya dia saja yang tahu. Jadi kita semua ucapkan Selamat Berjaya." - rasa mcm OMG this is it! its about time..i have to learn to choose my path. to make decisions for my future. i can no longer rely on anyone. blamming people for the wrong move i made. theres not gonna be mama or abah who will decide things for me anymore. no ones gonna tell whats the best n what not anymore. well thats terrifying! sungguh!

X-rayographs.;)

its an artwork/ a photography skill using an x-ray device~invented by Albert Koetsier who is actually a manager of an X-ray manufacturer. he loves photography n his 1st artwork was on a lizard that drowned in the pool. an x-ray view showed it also had a broken leg. from there, he started to shoot on flowers n shells (nature) ;)... Albert uses x-rays not to reveal follies or sad turns of fact infact he uses x-rays to uncover the hidden beauty of flowers. BRAVO! i envy u now.(source:R.Digest)
